Calendar Updated

All of the Upward and Youth Basketball games and practice times/locations have been added to the main church calendar and the Recreation Calendar on the left.

RBC’s Basketball for Children and Youth is here!

I know its long over due, but RBC Basketball for Children and Youth is here!  More details will be announced on Sunday and posted to the website on Monday, but here is a preview.  We will be doing Upward Basketball for children and Youth basketball (through the Christian Basketball Association) for grades 6th – 12th.  Registration will open on November 2nd and will go through the 1st week of December.  Please be on the look out for further announcements and information.  We are so excited about this opportunity.  Please keep this ministry in your prayers and begin to pray for all the lives that we’ll touch; specifically that we are able to plant a seed in each one of them.

Welcome to our new Upward Basketball League Director

It is my pleasure to introduce to you, Mike Craig, our first Upward Basketball League Director.  Please join me in welcoming Mike as the newest member of the Recreation Ministry Team.  We are excited to have him on the team!  Please cover him in your prayers as he leads this awesome outreach opportunity.   If you are interested and or are feeling lead to join him you can contact him at mike.craig@verizon.net or contact me at joed@redlandbaptist.org.

Lastly, although January (the start of the season) sounds so far away, begin covering this league in your prayers.  Pray for Mike and the team that God will use them in a mighty way to reach our community with the Gospel through the sport of Basketball.  Pray for Mike and myself as we recruit Godly men and woman to fill each position within the league.  And pray for the children AND the families of those that participate in the league so that each of them has the opportunity to learn about and receive the greatest gift…JESUS!

Welcome to the Recreation Ministry Blog

Hello and welcome to the new online hub for Redland Baptist’s Recreation Ministry. Some might be asking what is recreation ministry. Well, in a nutshell its play…with a purpose. That purpose is to share the love of Christ. The play is sports and so much more. It can and will be crafts, games, or even just hanging out. So stay tuned for the next event or activity we host. You won’t want to miss it….

Speaking of next event, come join us for our first RBC sponsored Family Camping trip on 21-23 August. We’ll be camping it up at Cunningham Falls and have a few campsites still open. If you are interest in joining us please contact me at joed@redlandbaptist.org.
