Some might be asking….”so what’s this Recreation Ministry thing anyways?”  Simply put, its using recreation as a tool to introduce members of the community to the best friend they will ever have: Jesus Christ.

As Americans, we love recreation.  Whether its sports, crafts, or the outdoors, we might work hard, but we like to play hard, too.  Knowing this fact, why not use America’s love for recreation as an opportunity maker to tell others about the ultimate love story.  You might know someone that won’t set foot inside of a church, but they would love to go watch their kid play some basketball.  Or there’s that friend who politely refuses every invitation to a “church event”, but sure does love to scrap book.  Maybe its that neighbor that you know loves to go camping.  These are all different recreation activities that provide opportunities to give them what they want so that you can introduce them to THE Friend they need.  That’s what distinguishes Recreation Ministry from Recreation.

At the end of the day Recreation Ministry is about play….with a purpose.
