    Redland Runners Event

The Redland Runners will be helping and supporting “RUNNING HOPE THROUGH AMERICA” on May 1st.  Lisa Smith-Batchen will be running  50 miles through each of the 50 states in order to raise funds in support of orphans in the United States and abroad. Please check out www.runhope.com for more details on the project itself.  One of her crew is the 60+ year-old running nun, Sister Mary Beth.

When/Where: May 1, event starts at Lake Needwood promptly at 5:30 am, but you can join later.  Here’s the map:  http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3549942

Pace:  10:00 / mile on average with some breaks

    We Really Need:
o More runners at start at 5:30 am at Lake Needwood
o Helpers to provide water on C&O canal path to everyone there (evangelism opportunity) and to Lisa and runners/cyclists
    o Backup security team:
    -  2 or more cyclists to relieve current cycle security (stop traffic at street crossings), call out fast cyclists coming from behind, etc.
o More runners to join Lisa somewhere along the route shown in the map…Russ can give you rough times for her.
o Prayer for safety and media exposure.

Lisa will have run 10 straight days covering 500 miles by the time she gets to MD.  She can use your prayers.

For details please contact the Redland Runners Director, Russ Egeland, at rjegeland@gmail.com or the Director of Recreation Ministry, Joed,  at joed@redlandbaptist.org.
